It's been an adventure in movie-watching lately. Over the past month I have seen some strange ones. My brother convinced me to watch the first two, and the others I wanted to see or was bored......
Sean of the Dead (Weird British zombie film. Stupid, suspenseful, strange, and even sad in a few parts. And very funny. Recommended if you can stand stupid zombie stuff, and guts being ripped out of people.)
Hot Fuzz (As this one sounds like a film of a questionable nature, I NEVER would have seen it if my brother had not made me. And I was surprised at how I liked it. There were some awful scenes with gross effects. I mean, it was about a psycho group of people in small town who start killing people because they don't like them. So dumb, very funny, and I like Simon Pegg.)
Disturbia (I ended up watching this because my friend Tori suggested it.... but mainly because Shia LaBeouf is in it. Shia is an annoying teenager on house arrest, and his neighbor is a serial killer, and it's quite suspenseful, so that was fun, but the rotting bodies of the dead women his neighbor killed wasn't. I could have lived without seeing that! Don't recommend it. Watch Rear Window (same story, no rotting bodies, and Jimmy Stewart!) instead. Or better yet, for a real suspense thriller, watch....)
Vertigo (This is one of my favorite Hitchcock films. James Stewart, playing yet another character who will not commit to the woman who is in love with him, is hired to follow a woman whose husband thinks she is being possessed by a dead person. Then she is killed. But a few months later, James sees her downtown, and what follows is the twist of the best movie ever. Just watch it. How can you not like Hitchcock?..................But seriously, what is up with Jimmy Stewart always playing these characters who will not commit to the gorgeous woman in their lives? "It's a Wonderful Life", "Rear Window", "Vertigo", and probably many more of his movies. It's all the same! He wasn't exactly McDreamy, so this I do not understand.)
Double Jeopardy (I finally got to see this one! And it was suspenseful and sad, as I knew it would be, and it had a strange ending. But once again, a rotting body, this time in a coffin with a terrifed Ashley Judd. That's enough to give you nightmares, waking up beside a corpse. I'm not sure I liked the ending. I wanted to know what happened to Tommy Lee Jones' character,
too.)
Inkheart (I like how Hollywood is trying to make fantasy films. But I recognize that it is hard. They can't all be as good as Stardust.)
Confessions of a Shopaholic (This was a silly, fun, movie. Classic girl lies to guy, girl gets caught eventually, girl solves her problem, girl gets guy. I was surprised at the purity of this movie. No sex or rude jokes or anything; very clean! Otherwise it was just cute. And it made me feel a lot better with my own shopping habits as this girl buys the most ridiculous things that no one needs, and that I would never be caught dead buying or wearing. Rather than convicting me, it made me feel like a sensible shopper!)
The Dream Team (Micheal Keaton, as a pathological liar, leads a band of "escaped" lunatics -including a man who thinks he's Jesus- around New York, on a mission to save their doctor, who accidentally witnessed a murder. Highly recommended. Also stars Christopher Lloyd, as a patient who believes he is the doctor. He's one of my favorite actors. This movie is great.)
3:10 to Yuma (I was on very little sleep and just felt like sitting around, and my brother was watching this movie so I joined him. Good points: Christian Bale, Russell Crowe, and the fact that is a Western. I like cowboys. Bad points: It is a Western- so everybody dies. I felt that the ending was bittersweet.)

my brother loves 3:10 to Yuma... love your comments on it! Cowboys are always a plus. Christian Bale playing a cowboy major plus! Haven't seen it yet myself!
