Have I done a post like this yet? I have just been thinking a lot about the Kindle reading application for PC and how cool it is that I don't have a Kindle, yet I can still get Kindle books! I love that!
The books currently on my Kindle:
--Missionary Travels and Researches in South Africa by David Livingstone (this is the reason I got a Kindle app. They didn't have this book at the library and I discovered it free on Amazon! Yay! I love reading his adventures in his own words!)
--Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant (I haven't started it yet, but I am very interested American History and the lives of Presidents right now, so although it sounds dry and boring, I really do intend to read this!)
--Right Ho, Jeeves by PG Wodehouse (one of the best writers ever! I've read this one before but it was the only free one by him I could find. I'm going to read it again, just saving it for a rainy day)
--The Declaration of Independence (just for reference purposes and I read about US history)
--The Constitution of the US (same as the Declaration. I haven't read it on Kindle yet, but I've read these both before.)
--The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin (this is the one I am going to read as soon as I finish Livingstone's book. I'm very excited. I'm also looking for more on the Founding Fathers. Hopefully free ones!)
That's my Kindle for now. I'd actually like to get a Kindle, but this is a much cheaper way to go. And besides, I love the feel of a real book in my hand. I like turning the pages and smelling that "old-book/library" smell. Actually, I even like the "new-book" smell! Kindles don't smell.
What a weird word: smell.

Oh, right! It's a new year!
Hello, 2011!
I am only about three weeks late in my "New Year/reflections on the past year" post. I don't usually have very much to say in this blog though. This will be a slightly random post.
My only New Year's resolution is to READ MORE! It is my own fault that I don't read as much as I used to. I really want to read, but I let other things get in the way. All the time. So, this year, I am working on that. Less tv and more books!
I love my free Kindle App for this reason. I don't need an expensive Kindle to read a Kindle book! And I love that. I have been finding old books and historical documents- all free, of course- and downloading them. I also found a romance novel for free, completely by accident. I was wanting to read a different novel by the same author and when I clicked on this one, it said the Kindle Edition was free! I stayed up til 1 reading last night! It was really nice to be reading again, even if it was just a romance novel for fun!
One of my goals is to study up on American History more, and Kindle definitely helps with that goal. I just need to make myself read and study and take the time.
Another goal is to read the Bible and also journal and, especially, PRAY! WHy are these things so hard to do?
Sewing, cooking, knitting, and cleaning out the basement are the rest of my goals. that last one will probably take an entire year, so that's why it makes the list!
I am also planning a trip to the UK in the spring, so I need to save my money! But I am now headed to a book sale! haha.
And one more thing on shopping. Thanks to my sister, I was able to buy a $20 Amazon.com gift card for only $10!! I love that! SO I am also going shopping on Amazon soon.
