Okay, so perhaps one could argue that I am in love with winter, as I wrote a whole post before about how great Christmas and winter are, blah blah blah..... But seriously, the number one thing I LOVE about winter is that there are NO frogs!!!!

This is my favorite thing. Forget Christmas time, and snowmen and penguins, and happy movies, and snowglobes, and knitting scarves and mittens (I just finished my first pair of mittens to match my scarf--SO much fun!), and winter sports (I just named that for the sake of those who actually enjoy winter sports; I say no thank you to all winter sports and being outside for fun; except maybe sledding- on a nice hill- but I haven't yet this winter)-- these things (many others!) may be jolly and fun and they definitely do their part to contribute to the "winter joy" in the air, but let me tell you: the fact that there are no frogs outside ready to jump at my heels as I walk out to the car makes up for all the negatives...( such as below zero temperatures, cars not starting, having to brush the snow and ice off the car, shoveling, hauling and stacking wood, salt stains on the legs of my jeans, and just generally being very cold.) It's all worth it.

Winter should last longer....

P.S. I was going to google an image of a frog to post, but I just can't! It makes me ill.

Haha! Only you Rosie! Only you! I have such fond memories of being at LEC together and boys torturing you with frogs. I think at first I may have helped, I don't remember, until I realized how serious you were about it! Remember that one time? Ohh yeah.
We're going to have a huge picture of a frog at your funeral :-D

I went to the zoo last week. Lots of frogs there - it made me think of you.

You have to admit that 'splendid tree frog' is an endearing name, even if you find the creature repulsive. Mostly just the 'splendid' bit.

Splendid Rob

I am very glad that I did not include a picture of a frog on your journal for a joke... I did think about it and now I am glad that I didn't!
